Located in a legally preserved area of the Atlantic Rain Forest, Lagoa Encantada (enchanted lake) has been discovered in 1570. We’ll takea dirt road surrounded by beautiful and untouched landscapes until we reach a small village that has grown around the lake. Arriving at the lake can take a boat, stand-up paddle, kayak or wooden canoe around the lake of 14 square km of clean fresh water surrounded by exuberant vegetation from the Atlantic Rain forest with floating islands, waterfalls, fishermen’s villages, cocoa plantations and a great fauna diversity. Close to the lake there is a ensemble of cascades called “Caldeiras do Almada”, the tallest one reaching 6 m. The holes created in the rocks make it perfect to swim. Abseiling fans will find perfect conditions in the canyon of the Apepique waterfall, which is close by.
